As Dean Holley-Walker announced in her email to the HUSL community, classes will begin virtually on Monday, August 17, 2020. Law students are welcome to take advantage of selected spaces in the beautiful, award-winning library -- along with other spaces on campus. Excluding holidays and university closures, the Law Library will be open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET until further notice. For current HUSL students that would like to study on campus, please confirm that a seat is available using the new Seats Reservation System. To familiarize yourself with the physical library space, a virtual tour of the library can be found here. To expedite services, we recommend that all community members direct their questions to our centralized email: email@example.com.
In order to manage on campus capacity and ensure the dedensification of our spaces during this time, the law school has deploying a new Room Reservation System. All law students who would like to study on campus are required to consult the On Campus Seats Reservation page and reserve a seat for themselves before making the trip to campus. The Virtual Study Rooms offer additional opportunities for students to study, collaborate, and meet together in a virtual space -- no matter their geography.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we integrate this new reservation system into our campus management workflows. As with all new systems, we appreciate your feedback and will make adjustments as needed. Send any questions you have about our hours and the new reservation system to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In compliance with the District of Columbia and Howard University requirements, appropriate precautions for COVID-19 must be followed by all faculty, students, and staff for the safety and protection of the entire community — including wearing masks at all times in the Law Library and other spaces on campus.
As we begin a new and unique experience this semester, the Howard University School of Law Library staff are happy to welcome you and support your success this semester and in the years to come!
