Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Law Library - My Library Account

Use the library catalog to search for physical items in the library. While research databases such as Westlaw and Lexis are essential, they may not always be available, or they may not be the best option for your legal research project. Sometimes your project may require a combination of print and digital material.

1. Visit the Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Law Library Website: https://library.law.howard.edu/

2. Select the option "Catalog" located at the top of the page.

3. Depending on the topic of your research you have the option to search:

  • WRLC - The Washington Research Library Consortium, which is comprised of library collections at institutions in the D.C. area.
  • Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Law Library ("Law Library") - which narrows the search for items only in the law library collection.
  • Howard University Libraries ("Howard Libraries) - which consists of all libraries at Howard University (e.g., Founder's Library, Health Sciences Library, etc.)

4. Log in to your library account to save items, check your library record, and request interlibrary loan. Interlibrary loan is a service that allows the Howard community to request books from other libraries that are not in the law library collection.
