Interlibrary Loan and Resource Sharing

Interlibrary Loan

The Law Library maintains formal agreements with libraries worldwide to share materials with, or provide photocopies to, other libraries. This service is available to Howard Law School students, faculty and staff only.

Circulating books and photocopies of articles are easy to obtain from most lending libraries, but the following types of materials are not loaned: an entire volume of a journal, periodical, reporter, code or digest cannot be requested, though individual articles or pages can be; rare books; loose-leaf volumes; volumes from a multi-volume set, or reference material.

Requests are processed Monday - Friday, except holidays. Most photocopies are delivered within 3 working days and most books are delivered within 10 working days.
